Jack currently serves as Of Counsel to the firm. Prior to joining Jim Nagle in 1977, Jack was associated with Skidmore, Owings and Merrill; Holabird, Root & Burgee; Naess & Murphy; and Harry Weese and Associates. Jack is highly regarded for his technical expertise as well as his interest in the institutional design of the profession as a continuum, including education, licensing, design, and practice. Jack’s oral history is a part of the Chicago Architects Oral History Project for The Art Institute of Chicago.

Jack has served on the Boards of both the Chicago Chapter and the National AIA and has sat on several AIA design juries, including the 2003 National Institute Honor Awards for which he served as Jury Chair. In 1990 he was the Kemper Medal recipient for services to the profession. Jack is a former Adjunct Professor and Acting Dean at the College of Architecture, Illinois Institute of Technology, and has been on advisory councils for the architecture schools of Princeton and Cornell Universities.
